Creating a Strong Password

A strong password is your first line of defense. Follow these guidelines:

  • Use at least 8 characters
  • Include uppercase and lowercase letters
  • Add numbers and special characters (!@#$%^&*)
  • Avoid using personal information (birthdays, names)
  • Don't reuse passwords from other accounts
  • Use a password manager to generate and store passwords

Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)

Enable 2FA for an extra layer of security:

  1. Go to Settings in the UpSend app
  2. Tap "Security"
  3. Enable "Two-Factor Authentication"
  4. Choose SMS or authenticator app
  5. Follow the setup instructions
  6. Save your backup codes in a safe place

Protecting Your Account

Follow these best practices to keep your account secure:

  • Never share your password or PIN with anyone
  • Don't click on suspicious links in emails or SMS
  • Verify the sender before sharing any information
  • Log out after using shared devices
  • Keep your app updated to the latest version
  • Monitor your transaction history regularly
  • Report suspicious activity immediately

Recognizing Phishing Attempts

Be aware of these common phishing signs:

  • Urgent requests for personal information
  • Misspellings in URLs or email addresses
  • Generic greetings instead of your name
  • Requests for payment or transfers
  • Threats of account closure or suspension

What to Do If Your Account is Compromised

If you suspect your account has been compromised:

  1. Change your password immediately
  2. Enable 2FA if not already enabled
  3. Review your recent transactions
  4. Contact UpSend support immediately
  5. Report any unauthorized transactions
  6. Check your other accounts if you reused passwords
